Call for Submissions: Eggplant Emoji Vol. 6
Are you funny? We mean, really funny? Eggplant Emoji, the comedy literary journal, is open for submissions! We’re looking for original comedic prose fiction that is character-driven. We are not looking for essays; we want scenes with dialogue, and stories with a beginning, middle, and end. Our word minimum is 1,000 words because we believe at least a couple thousand words are necessary to get to know a character and tell a whole story.
Submission Guidelines:
· What we want: Comedic prose fiction, ranging from 1,000 to 8,000 words.
· When: Submissions are open from March 4 – April 29.
· No fee: Submissions are free!
· Payment: If your work is selected, you’ll receive $25 and a physical copy of the book.
How to Submit:
· Email your submission as a .doc or .docx file to EggplantEmojiLit@gmail.com.
· A maximum of 2 pieces will be accepted per person for consideration.
· Please title your work and reference it in the body of your email.
· We use a blind submission process, that means your name, email address, or other identifying information should be absent from the document. That means no biography is necessary to send with your submission. We care about the writing, not your credentials.
· Simultaneous submissions are fine, but please inform us if your submission is accepted elsewhere.
